ESSKA membership is annual, running from 1 January to 31 December each year. You can join at any point in the year and benefits begin immediately upon approval.
Yes — existing members can change their tier, though you will need to reapply. For example, a Resident moving to Full Member status upon qualification would submit a new application. Contact the ESSKA Executive Office in Luxembourg for guidance.
Full Membership (Senior MD) is open to qualified medical doctors currently practising in orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, or a related specialty. You will need to provide proof of your medical qualification and current practice during the application process.
Fellowship and grant applications are open to Full Members and Residents / Fellows. Each fellowship has its own criteria and application window. The most prestigious include the ESSKA-AFAS Pau Golanó Research Fellowship and various travel grants for European centres. Details are published on the ESSKA website each year.
Yes. All ESSKA members — regardless of tier — receive free access to ESSKA Academy webinars and online learning content. Hands-on courses and some certificate programmes may have additional fees to cover venue and faculty costs.
